  1. - Meet the brewery – An evening with Oakham Ales

Thursday 10th October saw the first of our ‘Meet the brewery’ events take place at Oaka. Before any drinking took place, it became clear that the next one would be needing a bigger share of the bar space! Nonetheless, around 25 eager Oakham fans piled in and got the evening started, not for the first time, with a JHB. The idea of the evening was to go through a history of the Oakham Ales brewery and with each landmark beer came an opportunity to drink it and chat about it. The beers included JHB and Inferno, Oakademy beer (Gilbert’s Fridge), autumn seasonal brews (Asylum and Black Hole Porter) and an international award-winning IPA (Green Devil IPA). Our eager listeners/drinkers also got their hands on some challenger and citra hops to see what makes the beer so good.

Thanks to everyone that came along. For all those that missed out, don’t panic. We will be booking in another bigger and better event as more beers become available. Until then, keep enjoying the beer that the guys are pumping out of Peterborough and we’ll see you at the bar. Cheers!
